Well, I just wanted to stop by and let you know we are still an active project. We hae been slaving hours and hours over the new code for PHPNews. As we stated before, after we resurected the project, there is no release date, but it will be finished.
Also, another note, with the End Of Life notice from PHP.Net for PHP4, we will be releasing PHPNews2.0 in PHP5.
Our forums have bugged out something feirce, so we disabled them. Once we progress on our project a little more, we will reopen our forum to the public!
Have a great summer everyone, and stay tuned!

Over the next few weeks, developer involvement in the forums, will be at an all time low. After long discussions, planning, and timelines, we are ready to start hammering out the frameworks, and piecing together this long awaited puzzle. In order to speed up the process, we have to move around our priorities. We will still visit and view, but please don't be discouraged if you don't receive a prompt response.
Also, a new site layout will be appearing in the near future.
Stay tuned!

It has been a long time since anyone has posted an update, so i think it's time we have one!
Latley, the SVN's have been going crazy with the updates for PHPNews2. That's right. After a few unexpected delays and misfortunes, we are resuming code construction!
We are going to attempt to keep better records and keep all of our amazing fan base up-to-date with what's going on.

As promised for a while we would make a post about what PHPNews 2.0 is going to be like. Well finally we have made enough decisions to provide an insight into why PHPNews 2.0 is going to be so much better than anything else available.

The PHPNews team are happy to announce the release of PHPNews 1.3.0. This new release addresses a recently found security vulnerability. In order to be vulnerable to this you must have magic_quotes_gpc() disabled (however it is enabled by default). Even so the PHPNews team highly recommend you upgrade ASAP. Have a read of the changelog for the rest of the changes.
In other news, development of PHPNews 2.0 is back under way. Expect a news post soon with full details on what to expect in our PHPNews rewrite.

Seems there is a possible security vulnerability in previous versions of PHPNews. It appears to affect only certain PHP configurations however we strongly suggest you upgrade to the latest release immediately. Like last time there is also a cumulative upgrade package to make your life uograding that bit easier ;)
